Maybe teTex or the plist file didn't install correctly. i-installer reports no critical errors at the end of configuration, but does say that
Cannot read system-wide csh login file /etc/profile. PATH has not been set.On the other hand, typing "tetex" on the command land results in the query whether meant "etex". etex will run. I have no idea where it came from. As far as I know I haven't installed any such thing, and I'm not aware of Apple shipping machines with such things installed. I apparently at one time fooled with intalling teTex via fink, but don't recall that that worked. I supposed that attempt could be marring the present installation attempt, but don't know how or why I wouldn't get an error message about it.
Cannot read /etc/manpath.config file. You are probably running a pre 10.2 Mac OS X. Man path not set.
There were 1 errors. Please read the warning messages,
### texmf.configure: failed to run settexpath.
Maybe the plist file didn't install. I don't really know how to test this. The plist installer pops up when I download the file, and now sees the copy I put in .MacOSX, but I don't know what that means.
It seems like something very fundamental is causing the problem for it to unexpectedly quit so quickly.
Any ideas? mlh
