Have you tried to put your accented characters to: Edit> Preferences > Language setting > Spellchecker > Escape characters ? (This is the path in QT version, should be fairly similar in xforms)
You need to use correct encoding though.
This is really strange:
So far LyX worked at least somehow for spellchecking Czech texts (encoding Latin2), but when I try to spell attached Czech text (which is beginning of very famous poem), I got this very strange dialog box (see attached screenshot -- ``večer'' means ``evening'' and it is perfectly correct spelling). So far in the previous versions I need not to set document encoding in Layout/Document/Language/Spellchecking -- but even when I set it up, it works same badly. Moreover when I finish the dialog, LyX coredumpts with core which doesn't say much (#0 0x4076d781 in kill () from /lib/libc.so.6). I use ispell 3.1.20 from Debian distribution.
