It won't. You'd have to run autogen.sh to regenerate the configure script, which isn't a 'normal' requirement. Thereafter, you'd have to run configure, which is.
Edit src/frontends/libfrontends.la by hand and all will be well.
Ok. Both methods works. If someone interested I can make public xforms-1.0.2 and lyx-xforms-1.3.2 bin packages for slackware 9.x. Currently I've made binaries for athlon and pentium3 but building generic i686 is no problem now :>
