Not being a coder, I still resort to what must be considered atrocious kludges by developers, etc. In my own example, the color shift is written into the Lyx file using the line \color white which is restored with a \color default (or is left alone if a new paragraph--defaults must kick in for each paragraph). So my kludge solution would be to use mc to edit the file, replacing all "\color white" phrases with "\color black"--which gives me the out to change back without using the word "default." If I really had nothing better to do, I'd figure out a sed expression doing the same. But I'm a hobbyist, and those slashes and spaces always screw me up when playing with sed... again, HTH, Kenward -- In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be _teachers_ and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have. - Lee Iacocca
