Yeah, I tried both the stuff you sent me and the stuff in my previous email. 
They both have the same effect. The captions are a little smaller (not much, 
but just a little) and they are italic, if I add the \itshape in the right 
place like this

But my question was about the number of the figure being italic along with the 
rest of the caption, while the label "Fig" is not. I was thinking either the 
number should not be italic or "Fig" should. This way it looks kinda weird:

FIG (8. Diagramme bla bla bla)

Parentheses indicate stuff in italics. Whereas I think it should be either

FIG 8. (Diagramme bla bla bla)     or
(FIG 8. Diagramme bla bla bla)

It's not really a big deal, but... for the perfectionists out there.
