environments in a book document (not book (AMS)) ?

Hello,

Is it possible to use book document (not "book (AMS)") with environments
like "theorem", "corollary", "example", ... ? I would prefer use "book" in
place of "book (AMS)" for questions of formatting on the screen and in the
dvi.
