Lyx fonts strange on laptop

Hi,
i have installed lyx on my laptop. The screenfonts (title and other big fonts) look 
like some games i played once on my zx spectrum (liasing). The dvi and pdf fonts are 
ok. Dvi seems to render. I tried lyx-qt1-3 from tux familiy and a selfcompiled lyx 
from the 1.3pre2-1 sources. I am using debian with kde2. Is this a problem of lyx on 
fine resolutions or another problem maybe by debian that something is not too free 
enough  :).
