You can add rows and columns with M-w-i and M-c-i afterwards (not sure this
works in 1.2.x, though)

No, there are a few "clever" fallbacks implemented.

'xset q'  should yield a font path containing  ~/.lyx/xfonts  or some
global  ...lyx/lib/xfonts.
