I think \bm and \boldsymbol are not "natively" supported so you have to make LaTeX happy yourself (i.e. add braces if there is more than one thing). On the other hand, the \text* and \math* font changes are supported and add braces if necessary automatically. Andre' PS: Please quote only the relevant parts of the message you are responding to.
