It is strange, same version - different behavior. Did I miss a switch? The bug was for TIF and XFIG files only ? My graphics files that are converted on each update are jpg's and png's - ps files are not converted. A tmp dir is created and kept after each LyX launch and the converted eps files are written there into the dir lyx_tmpbuf0. Everything stays there until they are removed after exiting LyX.
So I still get all my jpg's and png's converted for each preview which of course takes very much longer than the required LaTeX run alone.
