It is a better idea to have another texmf directory in your home directory, not to mess up with your actual tex installation. I use ~/texmf.local so I have the TEXMF environment variable redefined (in ~/.bash_profile, but it depends on your own configuration) as TEXMF={~/texmf.local,/usr/share/texmf} export TEXMF Then I add new packages in that dir and run texhash for it. -- Renaud Michel Nous vivons a une époque ou le superflu est notre seule nécessite.
