LyX under RedHat 8.0

Since I did upgrade my system to RedHat 8.0 (Psyche) in German, the LyX-Menubars cannot show any Umlauts. RedHat uses the UNICODE, so maybe this is the reason. I use the newes LyX 1.2.1 ans the special RedHat packages. Is there any solution for this problem? Maybe someone had experiences under other LINUX distributions.
