I spent all summer writing a script to convert RTF to XML, so I'm not surprised at the inconsistent behaviour between Openoffice and AbiWord. The problem is, that there are different versions of RTF, and different readers have different abilities to parse RTF. RTF is somewhat tricky to say the least. I believe AbiWord uses the WV filter to convert files. I tested out this filter and found it was adequate, but not great. I haven't tested out Openoffic yet. That is my next goal. I think I have to buy the CD from cheapbytes because the suit is too big to download! Paul -- ************************ *Paul Tremblay * *[EMAIL PROTECTED]* ************************
