I had a similar porblem. I just created a soft link which points to the more recent version, i.e. as root ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 The first file name should be whatever libstdc++ you have installed.
