I just built and installed lyx-1.2.0 on sparc-solaris-8. The makefiles still require gnumake instead of the standard Solaris make, and the mathed directory library will generates a segmentation violation from the Solaris ar. Otherwise, it built without problems, using gcc-2.95.3. I'm still using xforms-0.88.1, despite the graphics limitations, because the compose key code does not work with xforms-0.89.6 on sparc-solaris-8.
