Hi Herbert,

thanks a lot for your quick help.
However, I get syntax errors for each chapter when compiling.
I then changed 
  \renewcommand\chapter{\clearpage
                       \secdef\@chapter\@schapter}
to
  \renewcommand{\chapter{\clearpage
                       \secdef\@chapter\@schapter}}
but still get the 3 errors right at the beginning:
  Undefined control sequence.
  ...    \secdef\@chapter\@schapter}}
