No, it should just work. A small example 1.1.5 document and the EPS file would be good. The LyX Help file with the mobius.eps image is an example that gives the behavior described above. I'm guessing from reading a few of the help files that LyX-1.2.0 requires ghostview (which we don't have installed) to render Postscript images on screen. Earlier versions of LyX (1.1.5 and before) used only ghostscript. We prefer the Solaris viewers for Postscript files, but if it's needed by LyX to render on-screen images, I can install ghostview.
