export or view ps dvi etc

Hi; i have a little problem in that when I export or view pdf, ps, or dvi a 
blank page is added at the front and the last page or so is cut off. Export 
as txt or html seems to work fine.
RH7.2, lyx-1.1.6fix4-1, tetex-1.0.7-38.2, dvipdfm-0.13.2b-1, dvips(k) 5.86
