Columns

Hi
I am writing an article that has to be double column. I am using Koma-Script, 
Article class.
Is there any way I can change the space between the columns?
Another question is, I need to have one multiple line header on the title 
page. The header has italic, normal and bold fonts. Which package would be 
good to use? Fancy header gave alot of errors in the document even without 
putting a header.
