Well I have read the user's guide and tutorial about writing letters
(using the "letter" class). (This is LyX 1.1.6fix1.)

What is "Closing" environment for? (I use it for "Sincerely,")

How can I add my name and title below the "Closing"? (Or do I just do it
manually with the "Standard" environment?)

(I assume that I add a blank space by using "Signature" environment.)

How do I use "Opening" environment?

Or do I add my salutation manually (using "Standard" environment)?

I tried it like:

Opening: Dear IT manager,

But that gave me three errors:

 Undefined control sequence.
 \opening{Dear IT manager,}

and

LaTeX Error: There's no line here to end.

(My last problem was that I couldn't change the margins, then I selected
"Use Geometry Package" and it worked. It would be nice if the margin
fields showed the default settings for the class.)

Manually formatting a letter only takes a few moments. Hopefully, I can
learn to save a few seconds by using LyX.

Thanks,
