I am trying something similar. I tend to like the default fancyhdr setting with the chaptername on the left and the sectionname on the right upper part. BUT: Some of my chapters and sections have names so long that the chaptername and sectionname run into each other. Any idea how to fix this nicely? I would love to have something like "Do it the standard way unless the two parts run into each other. In these cases do it on two lines." Is this at all possible? How do you guys handle this? Simply use shorter chapter/sectionnames? :-) Regards, JP
