Hi. I've had LyX around for awhile now, but am still a newbie at
using it. Until the other day, I didn't really have any need to write
anything. Now I am attempting to write a tutorial for the PHP
language, and have run into a few problems. Sorry for the
not-so-descriptive subject, but I couldn't figure out the best way to
summarize my problem. :) My version of LyX is 1.1.6fix2-1 (installed
via RPM), and I'm running it on Redhat 7.1. Also, I know nothing
about LaTeX.

In order to conserve list bandwidth, I uploaded my (23k) document to my
website, so please retrieve it from
        http://cyclist.newcreature.org/phptut.lyx

First of all, when I export it as HTML I get the following error:

/usr/bin/nsgmls:<OSFD>0:329:5:E: end tag for element "TAG" which is not open

It doesn't abort on the error. I.e., the html does get
generated. However, when I first started I was using the "DocBook
Article" layout instead of the "LinuxDoc Article" one and I think it
was aborting with that layout...can't remember for sure.

The other problems occur in section "4.1 Arithmatic Operators". The
snippet of PHP code in the "code" paragraph environment wraps in the
output even thought the lines aren't too long, and don't wrap within
LyX. Some of the shorter lines wrap while longer ones don't!

The last problem occurs in the next-to-last paragraph. There is a
mysterious line break between "10%3" and "is 1" in the output even
though LyX doesn't show one.

I would greatly appreciate any help,
Ben Logan

When Linux won't install on some hardware configuration, it means you
you need to switch to Windoze; but when a M$ product won't install, it
means you need to buy a new computer.
