It is:

Converting from latex to dvi
Running latex
Executing command: kdvi 'bibliography.dvi'
So bibtex doesn't even seem to be started.
The lyx statusbar shows Latex - Bibtex - Latex.
I tried without Herbert's bibtex script too but this didn't help.
