Disabeling this Button should cure your Problems. I've had similar problem myself. In my case I had to remove some fonts in /etc/XF86Config (or do "locate XF86Config" if no there). Mandrake might use font server, though, which has font paths elsewhere. See "man xfs", "man XF86Config". Find where your fonts are defined, start removing them one-by-one until LyX works again. When you have found the font (path) that causes the problem, you can try to put it just last in the font list.
