more fonts in pdf?

Hi,


are  only pslatex and times  the fonts one should use with pdftex or 
ps2pdf  or there is a way to get other fonts displaying properly in 
pdf? Helvetica should be contained in pslatex, but if one choose in 
lyx helvetica the result is very fuzzy.

Some tricks?
