There is an updated release for Win32 available (called LyX 1.1.6fix2b) as
usual at
http://www.fh-hannover.de/mbau/tim/hentschel/lyx/index.htm
This update fixes two known problems:
1. Index now is present, too if you are using MikTeX!
2. Any change made in the lyx file will now produce an updated PDF file if
you call View->Update->pdflatex
