Thanks for filing the bug. Will have to decide if writing such a
script is easier than hand crafting especially for multilevel lists.
This will be fixed in LyX 2.4.4 and will be in stable very soon. If you
are able to compile from git, you can have access to the fix quite soon.
If not, then LyX 2.4.4 should be out within a month.

Hi
Attached is a small tex file which contains an enumerate list with
options allowed by enumitem. When I import this into Lyx with
File->Import->Latex(plain) the enumerate options "label=\Roman*" are
not included in the list. I get
[label=\Roman* )]
1. first item
2. second item
with the \Roman as an ERT.
This is definitely a shortcoming of the tex2lyx import program. I've
filed a bug about it.
The file I want to import has many, many such enumerations and I
really don't want to have to hand craft each one. Is there another
way to get this code into Lyx where these options are included as such?
The only workaround I can think of involves a script (Perl or Python)
to replace these constructs with something else. After the file has
been imported, the script would run through the file and transform
these sorts of things into a List Preamble argument. Since the LyX
file is just a text file, this is not terribly hard to do.
