Hi,
Yes, mini buffer opened when I typed "Alt x" and I typed "ui-toggle
menubar" and hit enter, nothing happened.
I think something else must be wrong with your configuration, then. Some
window managers and desktops have their own ways of hiding menu bars and
the like. If you're using KDE, have a look at:

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I tried what you have
suggested (with Alt) but nothing changed. Also, I tried
Alt-V>Toolbars>Command Buffer>on (and Automatic) again nothing changed.
Did the minibuffer open so that you could enter the command?

Hi,
I am not very experienced in using LYX. My computer,
Kubuntu24.04.1LTS, after an update the opening page of LYX changed
as seen in the screenshot. I can use Alt-f, but I like to have
pull-down menus. How can I bring back pull-down menus?
First, use Ctrl-X to open the minibar (which allows you to enter
LyX commands manually). Then type:
ui-toggle menubar
If Ctrl-X doesn't work, then look under View> Toolbars> Command
Buffer, and turn it on.
