screen problems

Hello,

I have just re-installed Lyx-1.1.6fix1 on my RH7.0 box, shipping
Gnome1.2. I retrieved Lyx and xform-0.88-3 from Kyvans ftp-server.
When I start Lyx the background colour is changed to green for seconds.
All icons on my desktop are dim and de- coloured.
Unfortunenately I havn't been successful to find a similar problem in
the mail archive of the list. Any idea?
