This recent version has screwed me up. It offers no real advantages and
annoyingly won’t allow spaces in file names as part of the file location. The
2.1 version allows it. Bloody nuisance and for what possible reason.  I also
use palatino fonts which I find very attractive only to find they are no longer
available. So can anyone tell me how I can incorporate these fonts. Why on
earth did the lyx developers drop it? BestMike Reeks

Yes, I started it with the checkbox on the last page of the installer.

I use Windows 10 and was using administrator privileges to install LyX 2.3.5.2.

(The same happened with an ealier version of LyX.)

Strangely, this time I could not activate Acrobat Reader DC, even though I
found the output file.

After a restart, everything was OK.

When I start LyX 2.3.5.2 for the first time, it tells me "security
alert: ... started with elevated privileges" and the PDF is created but
not shown (= failure to open).

After a restart, everything is OK.

Not really a bug, more a hiccup.

 Kind regards,

  Hello Bernd,
Thank you for your feedback. Can you please provide some more information?
Which operating system are you using? How exactly do you start LyX for the
first time? E.g. on Windows there is a checkbox on the last page of the
installer. Or do you simply launch the program like you would usually do? Which
pdf viewer are you using?
