Learned the cause of this; have not yet found the solution. Long tables (multipage tables) cannot be in a float. My web searches for how to convert a floating table to a fixed one have been unsuccessful and I've not seen how to do this in the embedded objects manual. How do I change a float table to a fixed table? If it's in one of the documents I've missed it. TIA, Rich
