Hello! As it is currently implemented, equation labels are displayed as part of the equation number in LyX's editor. Sadly, for longer, semantically meaningful label names (e.g. "eq:maxwell-equations-in-vacuum"), this throws off the formatting in the editor buffer: Instead of centering the equation, the combination of label and equation is centered. A similar problem occurs, when left-aligned equations with left-aligned numbering are used.
