This is a general limitation. Preamble definitions are only removed if they are in the LyX preamble, i.e. after %% LyX [...] created this file. [...] and before %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% User specified LaTeX commands. The same happens with \newcommand and \newenvironment Fixing this would require some effort. Jürgen
