The underlying issue is what is the adequate set of latex packages that the lyx package should require on Fedora. A safe bet is to require all the texlive packages. :-D Surely that is overkill, so we need to make a compromise. At each moment we need to establish some kind of threshold. And to be able to compile the User's Guide seems reasonable but I am open to other suggestions.
