Thanks. I just did but the "Backup directory" entry in the preferences is empty. So I guess it goes to some default directory. But I don't remember which it is. Maybe the "Temporary directory"? Is it to be found in one of those "lyx_tmpdir.aACBCqm16796" folders in that directory?
Maybe if a path is empty and there is a default it should show the default directory in grayish text?
