But even so, short names would be coathangering the symptom rather than fixing the root cause. Here's why... If the line's long enough to wrap, this problem doesn't occur. If it's way shorter than the space allotted, this problem doesn't occur. But if it's in the middle, the problem occurs. What's happening is that the text part of the header, the part that isn't the page number, is using too wide a width to word wrap. Let me repeat: Long names aren't the problem. Middle length names are the problem. That's the root cause. To fix this with short names I'd need to make the names extremely short: So short as to be confusing to the reader. So, given that, does anyone know a way to get the text part of the header to wrap in a smaller width, so it doesn't crash into the page number to its left?
