Yes, it can do that. Actually, we already check that (we check if ugmr8r.tfm is present), but we do not use this information yet. Please file a bug on trac. I do not have much time during the next weeks (months?) probably (but it will be trivial to implement this). This also needs to be done for others TeX fonts. Jürgen
