Hi everyone, I am trying to use the Computer Algebra System in LyX 2.1.2.2 on a Mac.
I have downloaded Maxima - version 5.30 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/maxima/files/Maxima-MacOS/ <http://sourceforge.net/projects/maxima/files/Maxima-MacOS/>). Its installed in the Applications folder. To configure with LyX I have used the "Preference->Paths->PATH prefix" field. I have set many values, using a colon ":" to separate: /usr/texbin:...:/Applications/Maxima.app When I create a simple equation $1+1$, right click and select Maxima, an equals sign appears but not an answer. I assume the path value is incorrect. If Maxima is installed at "/Applications/Maxima.app", what should be placed in the "PATH prefix" field? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
