There have been 27 responses so far (not bad, given that the poll has been running just a few hours...) Currently I count two proprietary compilers, that I can't classify (yet), one 2.7.*, two 2.8.*, four egcs*, the remaining 2.95 and above or precompiled binaries from various sources. >From the comments I'd take that requiring 2.95 would cause problems in at most three cases, "hard evidence" was shown in one case. I think the poll should stay open until Monday evening or so to give those people a chance who check there mail only on weekend.
