hello * !

I have problems with hyphenation in german. I've tried dehypht.tex and
dehyphn.tex - it's always the same thing. For example, the word
"Schnittebene" ist hyphenated like this : "Schnit-tebene". That's nonsense.
It should be : "Schnitt-ebene".
I tried to disable hyphenation at all, but all the ways I found don't satisfy
me:

-> Insertion of \sloppy into the preamble doesn't work at all - no errors,
     but still hyphenation.
-> insertion of \hyphenpenality=10000 disables hyphenation, but leeds to
     unacceptable results.
-> using "nohyphenation.tex" produces the same output as \hypenpenality.

Here is an example of what I mean with unacceptable results with
nohyphenation and \hypenpenality:
(I'm using english text for the example)

what I get is:
|*************************| <- this is the size of our piece of Paper
Old Lanscombe moved totteringly <-this is my problem
from room to room, pulling up
the blinds.

What I want to get is:
|*************************|
Old Lanscombe moved
totteringly from room to
room, pulling up the blinds.

or:
|*************************|
Old Lanscombe moved
totteringly from room to
room, pulling up the blinds.

What can I do to disable hyphenation and get results in way I want ?

Thanks !

Olaf
