As far as I understood, Dekel meant the already existing
references in the text. So, i.e. if you expand a big article
(or book, say) and realize your labels need to be changed as
you ran out of sensible names you can do so and LyX will
change all the references in the text (Which is a great
feature I'm looking forward to see for the math-labels too!)
