To begin, I quote LDN: "Why do we need 120+ variables to control
LyX?" I am not sure, whether I understood well the sentence,
but if it was meant as a some kind of disagreement with such
number, I want to tell you (as a totally non-programmer kind of
LyX user), that such nice configurability of LyX is one of the
reasons why I like it so much. On the one hand it is really
possible to tailor LyX to suit one needs on the other hand it is
really so simple to do it, so it is available even to me (compare
to fvwmrc for example -- I have just browsed through manpage to
recognize, that creating substantial fvwmrc is not job for me
:-). And yes, I very like how well are all those variables
documented.
Morale of this message is: Yes, we need 120+ variables to
control LyX and it is, IMAHO, The Right Thing to have them.
