Yes, this was the key for the vigvam :) I installed xpm-devel-...rpm and ./configure ,
make and make install did the rest. But when typed at the prompt "lyx", I only
received the following message:
error in loading shared libraries: libc.so.5: cannot open shared object file: no such
file or directory
What am I doing wrong this time? This library as I know is for compatibility reasons
with older programs. The package "libc...rpm" that contains it is installed, I'm sure.
The machine runss RedHat 6.0
10x to all that received me.
