the values of the picture environment are only important if you
want to reserve some place for your picture. they are NOT the real 
size of your picture. so the command \begin{picture}(0,0) reserves
no space for the following picture-commands, means: the picture
will be drawn just over the textarea.

there must be an english version of Fritz Cremers "the little
TeXbook" in the net. it's good for a first information of all
this tex-stuff.
