slow editing in 1.1.5fix1

Hello All,

I seem to be experiencing very slow editing/typing in this version of
LyX (back delete is a problem, and fast(ish) typing causes characters to
get missed). My machine is an old p166. Looking at old postings a
similar problem was reported, and it was felt the blinking cursor may
be at fault. I don't know if anyone looked into this at the time, but
could someone tell me how I might turn off the blinking cursor to see
if that helps? (or have any other ideas).
