The devel series has a new inset that will be used to this
conversions (the external inset), although it doesn't show them, yet...
The idea for this type of translations is to leave an external program
to do that, for some of the convertion script it is used convert from
image magick.
IMO this is the path to follow, use lyx to integrate the work of other
programs, instead of try do all the tricks.
