is a list of things that need to be done _one_day_. It should probably
be proof-read...

Such a list is certainly a good idea.
But keep in mind that, since developpers do their work for fun, they
will tend to pick from this list things that they like to do. One
solution to overcome this is of course to have some kind of funding
for features.
Also keep in mind that much of LyX work in the near future will be
more on structure than on features. While this is not very rewarding
for the users, we have come to a point where this is needed. Note
however that (well written) patches for new features are still
welcome.
The reason why I am writing this is that I would not want people to
get frustrated because such or such feature has been ranked #1 for 3
monthes and is still not here.
