Hi everyone, I've been helping my seven year old son sell popcorn for his cub scout troop. Since I'm a geek and have nothing better to do, I created a spreadsheet (in gnumeric, the GNOME spreadsheet program) which made it easy to track the name, phone number and the various sales that he made. Using gnumeric, I exported the list in LaTeX2e format. I reLyXed the resulting output and was able to read it into LyX (cool!!). Using LyX, I was able to create customer lists with their popcorn orders in a very nice table. My only problem was this: The table as displayed by LyX is too wide to operate on comfortably. I end up stretching the LyX window (wider than my screen size) and using ALT-secound-mouse-button to move the LyX window around so that I can operate on the far right columns of the table. It would be nice if LyX had a horizontal scroll-bar for these types of things in addition to the normal vertical scrollbar. In any case, the LyX-ified popcorn sales lists are beautiful! Thanks to the LyX team. ---Kayvan -- Kayvan Aghaiepour Sylvan | Proud husband of | Father to my kids: Sylvan Associates, Inc. | Laura Isabella Sylvan | Katherine Yelena (8/8/89) http://sylvan.com/~kayvan | | Robin Gregory (2/28/92)
