I am on a Mandrake (Redhat) 5.3 system and the 1.0.4 rpm went in
without any troubles.
If you do need to build from the .src.rpm, it's rather difficult... the
horrible, cryptic command is:
rpm --rebuild lyx-1.0.4.src.rpm
