If I remember correctly you need to reset the footnote counter to 0 (1?)
after you've had 19 footnotes because there are no more symbols to use.
Either that or make use of a footnote package that resets the counter for
each new page or chapter. I can't remember which one's do this -- take a
look at "The LaTeX Companion" if you have one handy.
